- [Engl.]: Joseph Heller, the scion of a Bamberg merchant family born in 1798, was orphaned at an early age. After an apprenticeship in Nuremberg, Heller did not pursue the profession forced on him by his parents and his guardian. Instead, he lived as a private citizen in his hometown of Bamberg and invested the inherited fortune in his ever-growing passion for books and art. When he died in 1849 at the age of only 50, he left behind a unique collection of considerable proportions. In addition to stained glass, coins, medals, oil paintings and printed forms, some 50,000 works on paper provide impressive evidence of Heller's focus on graphic art. His pronounced thirst for research was reflected in a reference library of about 6000 volumes. A veritable treasure trove of knowledge is formed by the abundance of letter concepts and corresponding replies, notes on and for publications as well as translations of foreign-language works and copies of works that were difficult to access. Heller had appointed the then Royal Library (now the Bamberg State Library) as his heir at an early stage. His important estate was transferred there in its entirety and was to be preserved for public access. In this anthology, scholarly contributions present the collector, the genesis of the collection and the DFG project "The Joseph Heller Collection of Prints and Drawings in the Bamberg State Library-Visualisation and Networking of a Collection Structure" (2017-2020). Subsequently, the intention and task of the Heller estate will be explained. Using selected objects from the Heller collection as examples, current and former Bamberg art history students will shed light on the research potential hidden in the State Library. lok: 48716795 3 exp: 48716795 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.542 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0117160789X 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 5 exp: 48716795 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.548 201C/01 $011-02-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01182349323 208@/01 $a11-02-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 8 exp: 48716795 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.560 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607903 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 10 exp: 48716795 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.563 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607911 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 11 exp: 48716795 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.566 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0117160792X 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 20 exp: 48716795 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.568 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607938 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 21 exp: 48716795 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.571 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607946 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 23 exp: 48716795 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.575 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607954 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 24 exp: 48716795 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.578 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607962 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 25 exp: 48716795 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.581 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607970 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 36 exp: 48716795 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.584 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607989 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 49 exp: 48716795 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.586 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171607997 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 51 exp: 48716795 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.589 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608004 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 71 exp: 48716795 71 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.592 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608012 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 75 exp: 48716795 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.595 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608020 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 76 exp: 48716795 76 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.598 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608039 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 107 exp: 48716795 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.602 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608047 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 108 exp: 48716795 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.604 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608055 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 204 exp: 48716795 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.607 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608063 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH lok: 48716795 205 exp: 48716795 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-23 $t23:00:08.610 201C/01 $028-10-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01171608071 208@/01 $a28-10-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://artsandculture.google.com/story/TwXh0-e-c2WDJg?hl=de $XH
