Die Gründung einer alternativen polnischen Kulturszene Mitte der 1970er Jahre konnte teilweise eine Lücke schließen, die das in beiden Ländern verhängte Einreiseverbot für diese Schriftsteller und ihre Texte hinterlassen hatte. Da solche Aktivitäten als eine Straftat mit aller Schärfe verfolgt wurden, waren verschiedene Formen der Gewaltanwendung ein Bestandteil der staatlichen Überwachung und Einschüchterung von Schriftstellern, Verlegern, Übersetzern und Publizisten. 047I $aThe communist authorities and institutions of the Polish People's Republic used censorship during its existence both against writers from "imperialist countries" and from the former Eastern Bloc. Thus in the "second circulation" (as the Polish samisdat was called) banned books and poems by Russian, Czech and Slovak writers were published. The underground press also provided information about the repressions in their countries. However, attention should be also paid to the forbidden works of East German authors such as Reiner Kunze, Wolf Biermann or Jürgen Fuchs, and to various forms of violence and censorship against writers in the GDR.
