To expand scholarship on textual representations of war means to shed light on the multiple theaters of war, and on the many voices who contributed to, were affected by, and/or critiqued German war efforts. Engaged women writers and artists commented on their nations' imperial and colonial ambitions and the events of the tumultuous beginning of the twentieth century. In an interdisciplinary investigation, this volume explores select female-authored, German-language texts focusing on German colonial wars and World War I and the discourses that promoted or critiqued their premises. They examine how colonial conflicts contributed to a persistent atmosphere of Kriegsbegeisterung (war enthusiasm) that eventually culminated in the outbreak of World War I, or a Kriegskritik (criticism of war) that resisted it. The span from German colonialism to World War I brings these explosive periods into relief and challenges readers to think about the intersection of nationalism, violence and gender and about the historical continuities and disruptions that shape such events. lok: 49021254 3 exp: 49021254 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.724 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179741951 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 5 exp: 49021254 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.731 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0117974196X 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 8 exp: 49021254 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.738 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179741978 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 10 exp: 49021254 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.744 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179741986 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 11 exp: 49021254 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.750 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179741994 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 13 exp: 49021254 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.757 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742001 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 21 exp: 49021254 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.770 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742028 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 23 exp: 49021254 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.776 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742036 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 24 exp: 49021254 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.783 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742044 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 25 exp: 49021254 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.790 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742052 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 36 exp: 49021254 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.797 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742060 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 51 exp: 49021254 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.811 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742087 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 59 exp: 49021254 59 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.824 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742109 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 75 exp: 49021254 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.837 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742125 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 107 exp: 49021254 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.843 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742133 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 108 exp: 49021254 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.850 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742141 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 204 exp: 49021254 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.859 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0117974215X 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH lok: 49021254 205 exp: 49021254 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-01-22 $t22:15:35.866 201C/01 $029-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01179742168 208@/01 $a29-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72529 $XH
