However, if one looks at other texts of the Hebrew Bible, there is no mention of the Joseph story; instead, the arrival of the Israelites is said to be the result of the decision of a "father" or of "fathers" to go down do Egypt. Indeed, there are very few references to Joseph at all in the whole Hebrew Bible. Apparently, the Joseph story is not necessary for explaining why the Israelites found themselves in Egypt. The question therefore arises: Why was this story written, when, and for what audience? This volume offers an overview of the current discussion on the origins, composition, and historical contexts behind the Joseph narrative. There is a tendency to date the story (or its original version) to the Persian period, but this volume includes divergent voices about this issue. The volume also shows that scholarly discussion about the historical location of the Joseph story requires to bring together Egyptologists and biblical scholars. lok: 49029135 3 exp: 49029135 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.817 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582667 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 5 exp: 49029135 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.825 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582675 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 6 exp: 49029135 6 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.832 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582683 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 8 exp: 49029135 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.839 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582691 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 10 exp: 49029135 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.846 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582705 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 11 exp: 49029135 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.853 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582713 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 13 exp: 49029135 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.859 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582721 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 21 exp: 49029135 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.873 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582748 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 23 exp: 49029135 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.879 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582756 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 24 exp: 49029135 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.886 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582764 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 25 exp: 49029135 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.893 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582772 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 36 exp: 49029135 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.900 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582780 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 54 exp: 49029135 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.914 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582802 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 71 exp: 49029135 71 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.929 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582829 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 75 exp: 49029135 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.935 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582837 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 76 exp: 49029135 76 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.942 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582845 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 107 exp: 49029135 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.948 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582853 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 204 exp: 49029135 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.954 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01180582861 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH lok: 49029135 205 exp: 49029135 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $030-01-22 $t22:17:38.961 201C/01 $030-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0118058287X 208@/01 $a30-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/75118 $XH
