In addition to various Western thinkers, particular attention will be paid to Ali Shari'ati, one of the most influential thinkers of modern Iran, and how he represented an important Islamic tradition. Not only did his ideas inspire revolutionary acts by generations of Iranians, but Turkish, Arab, Malay, Indonesian, and Indian philosophers, sociologists, theologians, and politicians have all employed his definitions of concepts such as justice, injustice, revolution, corruption, and bliss. This article sheds light both on how intellectuals influence their audience, and their long-term impact on broader communities. In order to do so, it will analyze the material and political conditions that censor both what scholars are able to say, and what their audiences are allowed to hear lok: 50245641 3 exp: 50245641 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.371 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531417 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 5 exp: 50245641 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.375 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531425 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 8 exp: 50245641 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.378 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531433 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 10 exp: 50245641 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.381 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531441 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 11 exp: 50245641 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.383 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0122153145X 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 20 exp: 50245641 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.386 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531468 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 21 exp: 50245641 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.388 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531476 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 23 exp: 50245641 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.392 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531484 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 24 exp: 50245641 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.394 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531492 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 25 exp: 50245641 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.397 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531506 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 36 exp: 50245641 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.399 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531514 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 49 exp: 50245641 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.402 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531522 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 54 exp: 50245641 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.407 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531549 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 108 exp: 50245641 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.412 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531565 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 204 exp: 50245641 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.415 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531573 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH lok: 50245641 205 exp: 50245641 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-12-22 $t00:28:52.419 201C/01 $009-12-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01221531581 208@/01 $a09-12-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/153198 $XH
