The aim of this analysis is to provide a clearer understanding of the intertwinement of cinematic spectacles with neoliberalism and neoconservatism. The analysis comprises a dissection of Reagan’s presidential rhetoric and the examination of four seminal Hollywood blockbuster movies. The time range for analysis stretches from the 1980s until the 2010s. Among the key foci are filmic content as well as production and distribution contexts. It is concluded that Reagan’s political metaphors and the corporatization of film studios in the 1970s and 1980s continue to shape much of Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking. lok: 50693592 3 exp: 50693592 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.946 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353442 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 5 exp: 50693592 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.949 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353450 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 8 exp: 50693592 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.953 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353469 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 10 exp: 50693592 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.955 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353477 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 11 exp: 50693592 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.958 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353485 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 20 exp: 50693592 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.961 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353493 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 21 exp: 50693592 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.964 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353507 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 23 exp: 50693592 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.966 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353515 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 24 exp: 50693592 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.969 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353523 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 25 exp: 50693592 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.972 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353531 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 36 exp: 50693592 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.975 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0123235354X 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 49 exp: 50693592 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.977 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353558 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 54 exp: 50693592 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.982 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353574 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 108 exp: 50693592 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.988 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353590 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 204 exp: 50693592 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.990 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353604 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl lok: 50693592 205 exp: 50693592 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $016-04-23 $t22:29:47.993 201C/01 $016-04-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01232353612 204P/01 $010.3726/b17914 $S0 208@/01 $a16-04-23 $bl
