The investigative analysis is anchored in postcolonial methodologies and argues for the inherent need to decolonise the medieval source-material as well as recent historiography. This is achieved by presenting the historiographic and political background of research into Norse-Saami relations, before introducing an overview of textual sources discussing Saami peoples from the classical period to the late 1400s, an analysis of the textual motifs associated with the Saami in medieval literature (their relevance and prevalence), geo-political affairs, trading relations, personal relations and Saami presence in the south. By using decolonising tools to read Norse-Saami relations in medieval texts, influenced by archaeological material and postcolonial frameworks, the study challenges lingering colonial assumptions about the role of the Saami in Norse society. The current research episteme is re-adjusted to offer alternative readings of Saami characters and emphasis is put on agency, fluidity and the dynamic realities of the Saami medieval pasts. lok: 50757712 3 exp: 50757712 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.027 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745085 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 5 exp: 50757712 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.032 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745093 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 8 exp: 50757712 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.035 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745107 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 10 exp: 50757712 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.037 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745115 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 11 exp: 50757712 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.040 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745123 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 13 exp: 50757712 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.042 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745131 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 20 exp: 50757712 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.046 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0123374514X 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 21 exp: 50757712 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.048 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745158 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 23 exp: 50757712 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.051 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745166 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 24 exp: 50757712 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.054 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745174 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 25 exp: 50757712 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.056 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745182 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 36 exp: 50757712 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.059 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745190 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 49 exp: 50757712 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-02-24 $t23:14:12.953 201C/01 $007-02-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01255777389 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a07-02-24 $bl lok: 50757712 51 exp: 50757712 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.064 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745212 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 54 exp: 50757712 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-02-24 $t23:14:12.957 201C/01 $007-02-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01255777397 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a07-02-24 $bl lok: 50757712 69 exp: 50757712 69 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-02-24 $t23:14:12.960 201C/01 $007-02-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01255777400 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a07-02-24 $bl lok: 50757712 74 exp: 50757712 74 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-24 $t01:16:39.535 201C/01 $010-10-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01277183120 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a10-10-24 $bl lok: 50757712 75 exp: 50757712 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.069 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745239 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 76 exp: 50757712 76 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-02-24 $t23:14:12.963 201C/01 $007-02-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01255777419 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a07-02-24 $bl lok: 50757712 107 exp: 50757712 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.072 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745247 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 108 exp: 50757712 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-02-24 $t23:14:12.965 201C/01 $007-02-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01255777427 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a07-02-24 $bl lok: 50757712 204 exp: 50757712 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.074 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745255 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl lok: 50757712 205 exp: 50757712 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $006-05-23 $t22:15:46.076 201C/01 $006-05-23 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01233745263 204P/01 $010.1515/9783110784305 $S0 208@/01 $a06-05-23 $bl
