047I $aAdam Kašpar (1993) is one of the prominent representatives of the youngest generation of Czech artists. He graduated (2018) from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Painting Studio IV, led by Martin Mainer). He is generally regarded as a realist painter, which in his understanding refers neither to the technical conception of painting nor to its external form, but rather to an inner experience, to a direct, concrete, truthful, and therefore realistic view and depiction of the world that surrounds him. However, he considers himself primarily an observer and one of the components of nature, and painting is for him an essential, but nevertheless, a means to communicate the results of his observation to others. Thematically, his work lies in the space between the sky (astronomical observations), the earth (forests and landscapes) and the underground (geological explorations). He regularly travels not only in the Czech lands but also abroad (Mongolia, Bosnia, Iceland, Scotland...) in search of his motifs. Occasionally, he cooperates with natural scientists, namely with the Czech Geological Survey, NP Šumava or the National Museum. His home and studio are in Jeseníky Mountains. The monograph presents the three creative areas of Adam Kaspar, including his geological, ecological, and astronomical studies. The authors of the studies are Jan Dotřel, Pavel Dvořák, Barbora Kundračíková and Matthew Rampley
