The region experienced a tremendous economic boom from the 2nd century AD onwards. As the ›granary of Rome‹, the province supplied Rome with grain and olive oil. No other region in the empire was as densely urbanised as Roman Tunisia. Part of this boom was the production of extremely high-quality tableware, which was traded to all parts of the Mediterranean. With loans from Augsburg, Munich and Cologne, the exhibition is focusing on the manifold imagery of this tableware, which only developed as a result of the economic upswing. Unusual mythical images can be found alongside images of political representation and everyday life. The workshops in Roman Tunisia withstood all political, social, and cultural upheavals and produced elaborately decorated tableware until the 6th century AD. From the 4th century onwards, they also mediated between pagan and Christian imagery. North African tableware thus belongs to a central source of imagery for Late Antiquity and early Christianity. lok: 51760523 3 exp: 51760523 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.102 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171377 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 5 exp: 51760523 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.107 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171385 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 8 exp: 51760523 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.111 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171393 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 10 exp: 51760523 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.115 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171407 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 11 exp: 51760523 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.118 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171415 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 13 exp: 51760523 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.121 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171423 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 21 exp: 51760523 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.125 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171431 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 23 exp: 51760523 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.128 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0126217144X 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 24 exp: 51760523 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.130 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171458 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 25 exp: 51760523 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.133 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171466 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 36 exp: 51760523 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.137 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171474 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 51 exp: 51760523 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.152 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171490 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 54 exp: 51760523 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.157 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171504 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 71 exp: 51760523 71 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.160 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171512 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 75 exp: 51760523 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.163 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171520 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 107 exp: 51760523 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.165 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171539 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 204 exp: 51760523 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.168 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171547 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH lok: 51760523 205 exp: 51760523 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $008-05-24 $t02:32:27.171 201C/01 $008-05-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01262171555 208@/01 $a08-05-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/135806 $XH
