Without a vaccine or targeted treatment, the most effective strategy of prevention is vector management with community involvement. mHealth interventions, like WhatsApp, offer promising results for engaging communities and promoting healthier behaviors. This study explores the feasibility of integrating WhatsApp in vector control activities to improve arbovirus prevention in Colombia. A mixed-methods approach was employed to assess the WhatsApp-based intervention. WhatsApp messages were sent to 45 community women for 5 weeks to increase their knowledge and practices about dengue, Zika, and chikungunya. Pre-and-post surveys and focus group discussions were conducted in community settings to measure the feasibility and acceptability of this intervention. Chat reviews were done to assess the usability of users. A total of 1566 messages were exchanged in 45 WhatsApp chats. High acceptance and good usability (82% of users used the app for replying) were reported in this study. WhatsApp messages were perceived as short, clear, and enjoyable. Users liked the frequency, and design of messages. Pre- and post-surveys demonstrated improvements in the knowledge and practices of arboviral diseases. The intention to apply this knowledge in practice was reflected in a significant improvement, particularly in cleaning the laundry tank once a week (pre 62.1% to post 89.6%, p < 0.008). This study suggests that using WhatsApp as an additional tool could be a feasible, acceptable, and affordable strategy for improving the adoption of better practices in the prevention of arboviral diseases lok: 52052600 3 exp: 52052600 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.217 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268440922 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 5 exp: 52052600 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.221 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268440930 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 8 exp: 52052600 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.224 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268440949 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 10 exp: 52052600 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.226 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268440957 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 11 exp: 52052600 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.229 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268440965 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 20 exp: 52052600 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.232 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268440973 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 21 exp: 52052600 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.234 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268440981 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 23 exp: 52052600 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.237 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0126844099X 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 24 exp: 52052600 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.239 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441007 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 25 exp: 52052600 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.242 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441015 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 36 exp: 52052600 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.245 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441023 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 49 exp: 52052600 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.247 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441031 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 54 exp: 52052600 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.252 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441058 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 108 exp: 52052600 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.258 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441074 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 204 exp: 52052600 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.260 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441082 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH lok: 52052600 205 exp: 52052600 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-08-24 $t01:12:05.262 201C/01 $008-08-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01268441090 208@/01 $a08-08-24 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://freidok.uni-freiburg.de/data/249181 $XH
