It is among the first book-length studies on the genre, the first in a language other than French, and the first from a musicological perspective. Sabbatini demonstrates that, contrary to conventional wisdom, "féerie" was still thriving during the fin de siècle, giving rise to innovations such as composerly "féerie" and scientific "féerie". The plays, the theatre industry, and urban geography are discussed together, as befits a commercial genre where the marvellous was shaped by the market. Recovering this forgotten - but once hugely influential - repertoire provides an occasion to rethink generic taxonomies of Parisian theatre and the ontology of nineteenth-century "popular" theatre. lok: 52499584 3 exp: 52499584 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.972 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491685 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 5 exp: 52499584 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.977 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491693 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 8 exp: 52499584 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.980 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491707 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 10 exp: 52499584 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.983 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491715 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 11 exp: 52499584 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:31.945 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01294466429 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 13 exp: 52499584 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:31.962 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01294466437 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 21 exp: 52499584 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.986 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491723 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 23 exp: 52499584 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.989 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491731 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 24 exp: 52499584 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:31.999 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01294466445 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 25 exp: 52499584 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.991 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0128749174X 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 51 exp: 52499584 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:32.001 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01294466453 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 58 exp: 52499584 58 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:32.004 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01294466461 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 76 exp: 52499584 76 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:32.007 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0129446647X 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 77 exp: 52499584 77 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:32.012 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01294466488 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 107 exp: 52499584 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-03-25 $t23:39:32.016 201C/01 $004-03-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01294466496 208@/01 $a04-03-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 204 exp: 52499584 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.994 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491758 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH lok: 52499584 205 exp: 52499584 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-01-25 $t22:31:33.996 201C/01 $004-01-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01287491766 208@/01 $a04-01-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/jj.20829398 $XH
