[Dt.:] The Goya Network ist eine neu geschaffene interaktive Datenbank, die die sozialen und beruflichen Beziehungen des spanischen Künstlers Francisco de Goya aufzeigt und dabei einen besonderen Schwerpunkt auf seine Verbindungen zu Künstlern, Kritikern und Sammlern im Spanien und Frankreich des 19. Jahrhunderts legt. Mit ihrem Fokus auf zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen ist sie ein neuartiges Werkzeug für die Erforschung der sozialen Netzwerke historischer Künstler. Als „lebendige“ Datenbank erleichtert sie die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit und dient sowohl als Forschungsinstrument als auch als öffentliche Ressource, die Einblicke in den Einflussbereich Goyas und die Rezeption seines Werks gewährt. Das Projekt wurde von Paula Fayos-Pérez (PhD in Kunstgeschichte, Universität Cambridge, 2019) im Rahmen ihrer aktuellen Postdoc-Arbeit (finanziert von der BBVA-Stiftung) entwickelt. Die Website wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Anita Verő (PhD in Informatik, Universität Cambridge, 2022) erstellt. - [Engl.:] The Goya Network is a newly created interactive database that maps the social and professional relationships surrounding the Spanish artist Francisco de Goya, focusing on his connections with artists, critics, and collectors in 19th-century Spain and France. Unlike traditional studies of his work, this project emphasises the relational context that shaped Goya’s legacy, offering a novel tool for the study of historical artists’ social networks. As a ‘living’ database, it facilitates cross-disciplinary collaboration and serves as both a research tool and a public resource, providing insight into the scope of Goya’s influence and the reception of his work. This project has been developed by Paula Fayos-Pérez (PhD in History of Art, University of Cambridge, 2019) as part of her current postdoctoral work (funded by BBVA Foundation). The website has been created in collaboration with Anita Verő (PhD in Computer Science, University of Cambridge, 2022).
