Sabrina Ellebrecht engages with two of its primary building sites - the European Border Surveillance System (Eurosur) and the Refugee Boat. She analyzes how the function and quality of the EU's current political border is crafted, shaped, produced and eventually stabilized through these two mediators. Eurosur and the Refugee Boat mediate a level of Europeanization which has hitherto - and would otherwise have - been impossible. While Eurosur mobilizes the limits of border policing in various ways, the Refugee Boat functions as the vacillating European Other to legitimize both control and humanitarian interventions. The study shows the specific, if not constitutive, ambivalences of EU border policies, and explores the emergence of viapolitics. lok: 53091271 3 exp: 53091271 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.550 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425465 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 5 exp: 53091271 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.555 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425473 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 8 exp: 53091271 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.557 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425481 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 10 exp: 53091271 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.559 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0130842549X 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 11 exp: 53091271 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.563 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425503 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 20 exp: 53091271 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.565 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425511 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 21 exp: 53091271 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.568 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0130842552X 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 23 exp: 53091271 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.571 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425538 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 24 exp: 53091271 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.574 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425546 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 25 exp: 53091271 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.577 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425554 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 36 exp: 53091271 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.579 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425562 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 49 exp: 53091271 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.582 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425570 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 54 exp: 53091271 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.584 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425589 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 69 exp: 53091271 69 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.587 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425597 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 107 exp: 53091271 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.589 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425600 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 108 exp: 53091271 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.591 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425619 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 204 exp: 53091271 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.594 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425627 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR lok: 53091271 205 exp: 53091271 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $028-06-25 $t07:16:36.596 201C/01 $028-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01308425635 208@/01 $a28-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/44065 $XR
