Entgegen dieser Intuition arbeitet Valérie Dietrich die Produktivität und den konstitutiven Beitrag der Ästhetik für eine demokratische Politik heraus. Mit Hilfe des radikaldemokratischen Politikbegriffs von Jacques Rancière bindet sie sie an die sinnliche Wahrnehmung zurück und setzt sie in ein Verhältnis zu den anderen Vermögen der menschlichen Vernunft. Damit zeigt sie, dass die Ästhetik ein zentraler Ort gesellschaftlicher Reflexivität ist, von dem aus eine neue Politik beginnen kann.
