Am Beispiel der Encounter Felix Kanitz und Edith Durham sowie der serbischen US-Migrationsgemeinschaft um Mihajlo Pupin beleuchtet Eva Tamara Asboth, wie Geschichtsbilder räumlich transferiert und übersetzt wurden. Sie zeigt: Die regionale Geschichte war und ist von zahlreichen Begegnungen, Widersprüchen und politischen Verwicklungen geprägt.
