The metaphorical insane "run" ends with the outbreak of the First World War. The book focuses on European culture of the late nineteenth century and the Polish contribution to it. The word "dark" used to describe modernity is understood as a metaphor of gradual and permanent devaluation of the idea of progress, as a fading hope for the future of Europe as bright, predictable, prosperous, and safe. The "darkening" also receives a literal sense. At the end of the nineteenth century, darkness found its way back to the public space - in the theaters, panoramas, dioramas, and "love tunnels", which awaited the visitors of American and European amusement parks. lok: 53102730 3 exp: 53102730 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.035 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0130965476X 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 5 exp: 53102730 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.039 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654778 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 8 exp: 53102730 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.042 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654786 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 10 exp: 53102730 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.045 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654794 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 11 exp: 53102730 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.048 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654808 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 21 exp: 53102730 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.050 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654816 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 23 exp: 53102730 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.053 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654824 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 24 exp: 53102730 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.056 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654832 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 25 exp: 53102730 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.058 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654840 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 204 exp: 53102730 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.061 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654859 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR lok: 53102730 205 exp: 53102730 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-06-25 $t08:31:02.063 201C/01 $029-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01309654867 208@/01 $a29-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89765 $XR
