St. Seidenfus, ed., Deregulation - a challenge to economic and social policy in the market economy, Schriften des Verein für Socialpolitik, N. F., Vol. 184, Berlin 1989), it revisited this topic in an expanded and modified form at its 2001 annual conference in St. Gallen. Initial experiences have now been gathered for important markets, which need to be documented and evaluated. At the same time, the practice of deregulation has raised problems that were initially overlooked, but whose relevance has now been recognized and warrants economic analysis. Finally, the aim of the conference was to identify untapped potential for deregulation and privatization. This volume contains contributions from recognized experts on all of these aspects, which it is hoped will receive the attention they deserve in both academia and practice. The topicality and relevance of the subject is demonstrated by the fact that it addresses such intensely debated issues as the reorganization of savings banks and state banks, while also addressing fundamental problems such as effective state aid control and the identification of existing privatization and deregulation potential. The evaluation of previous deregulation practices applies to the most significant sectors in this area, namely the electricity and gas industries and telecommunications... lok: 53410005 3 exp: 53410005 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.337 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910692 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 5 exp: 53410005 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.340 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910706 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 8 exp: 53410005 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.343 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910714 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 10 exp: 53410005 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.346 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910722 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 11 exp: 53410005 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-25 $t22:06:21.171 201C/01 $011-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01319861296 208@/01 $a11-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 20 exp: 53410005 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-25 $t22:06:21.173 201C/01 $011-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0131986130X 208@/01 $a11-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 21 exp: 53410005 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.348 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910730 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 23 exp: 53410005 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.351 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910749 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 24 exp: 53410005 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-25 $t22:06:21.178 201C/01 $011-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01319861318 208@/01 $a11-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 25 exp: 53410005 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.353 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910757 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 36 exp: 53410005 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-25 $t22:06:21.180 201C/01 $011-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01319861326 208@/01 $a11-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 49 exp: 53410005 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-25 $t22:06:21.183 201C/01 $011-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01319861334 208@/01 $a11-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 54 exp: 53410005 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-25 $t22:06:21.186 201C/01 $011-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01319861342 208@/01 $a11-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 108 exp: 53410005 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-10-25 $t22:06:21.188 201C/01 $011-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01319861350 208@/01 $a11-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 204 exp: 53410005 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.356 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910765 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH lok: 53410005 205 exp: 53410005 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $007-10-25 $t23:15:08.358 201C/01 $007-10-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01318910773 208@/01 $a07-10-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctv1q6b341 $XH
