It provides a contemporary history of disability in city planning from a non-Western perspective and explores the cultural context for its positioning. Three insights inform the author’s approach. First, disability research, much like other urban or social issues, must be situated in a particular place. Second, access and inclusion forms a key part of both local and global planning issues. Third, a 21st century planning education should take access and inclusion into consideration by applying a disability lens to the empirical, methodological, and theoretical advances of the field. By bridging theory and practice, this book provides new insights on inclusive city planning and comparative urban theory. This book should be read as part of a larger struggle to define and assert access; it’s a story of how equity and justice are central themes in building the cities of the future and of today. lok: 48980251 3 exp: 48980251 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.719 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01177193310 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 5 exp: 48980251 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.723 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01177193329 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 8 exp: 48980251 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.726 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01177193337 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 10 exp: 48980251 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.728 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01177193345 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 21 exp: 48980251 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.735 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01177193361 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 23 exp: 48980251 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.738 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0117719337X 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 25 exp: 48980251 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.741 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01177193388 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 204 exp: 48980251 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.744 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01177193396 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH lok: 48980251 205 exp: 48980251 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $021-01-22 $t22:49:37.747 201C/01 $021-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0117719340X 208@/01 $a21-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26536 $XH
